OBSERVING THE ONENESS OF THE FAITH

LETTER NO. 5 - BRINGING IT ALL TOGETHER
We began our introduction to this site with the series of letters called “The Seven Letters to the Seven Congregations.” In them, we showed that Jehovah has not shut off entry into the Kingdom of the Heavens, that Jehovah is continuing to call his anointed sons, and we discussed why the older anointed are reluctant to recognize the younger anointed.
There was also a curious section discussing why the “earthly sons” are reluctant to recognize the younger anointed. After following these series of letters to their conclusion, you can see why we call that section curious. For who, indeed, could be the earthly sons if all in the Christian Congregation are heavenly sons?
The book of Galatians helps us understand this:
“Now I say that as long as the heir is a babe he does not differ at all from a slave, lord of all things though he is, but he is under men in charge and under stewards until the day his father appointed beforehand. Likewise we also, when we were babes, continued enslaved by the elementary things belonging to the world. But when the full limit of the time arrived, God sent forth his Son, who came to be out of a woman and who came to be under law, that he might release by purchase those under law, that we, in turn, might receive the adoption as sons.”
– Galatians 4:1-5
Really, these so-called “earthly sons” are babe unaware of their true status as sons of God. They bought into the idea that being anointed as a son is like a genetic assignment that cannot be altered. Because of that, they act as babes, talk as babes and think as babes according to the elementary things of the world – including a pursuit of the earthly things and a rejection of the heavenly things. For what slave would think he could enter the household as a son? And so he makes his peace with the idea of everlasting life on earth. Like the prodigal son, such a Christian has sold himself short; and the like the father of the prodigal, Jehovah would have nothing to do with that attitude. (Luke 15:21-24)
“Now because you are sons, God has sent forth the spirit of his Son into our hearts and it cries out: ‘Abba, Father! So then, you are no longer a slave but a son; and if a son, also an heir through God.” – Galatians 4:6-7
But, you may ask: Is everlasting life on earth a real possibility for man? The answer is both yes and no. First we consider Isaiah where the prophet tells is:
“For this is what Jehovah has said, the Creator of the heavens, He the [true] God, the Former of the earth and Maker of it, He the One who firmly established it, who did not create it simply for nothing, who formed it even to be inhabited: ‘I am Jehovah and there is no one else.”
– Isaiah 45:18
We see that the earth was formed to be inhabited. Next, consider the Psalmist:
“The righteous themselves will possess the earth and they will reside forever upon it.”
– Psalms 37:29
If we carefully look at these scriptures, what they say is that the earth will always be inhabited and at a point in time, all those inhabitants will be righteous. Notice what it does not say. It does not say that each individual righteous person would reside forever upon it – only that mankind in general would. In other words, there will always be human life upon this planet. And at a point in the future, all those humans would be righteous.
That takes us to the next series of letters, “The Royal Priesthood and the Holy Nation.” We discussed the typical representation of the Levitical Covenant that led to the development of the Holy Nation of priests, and the selection out of that Holy Nation of 144,000 who would serve not only as priests, but also as kings.
We established that the purpose of this “administration” is to bring all things together again in the Christ. So through the preaching and teaching work, faithful mankind would be added to the Holy Nation and receive a resurrection to the heavens where they would carry on their priestly functions in the heavenly realm. For as long as the earth is inhabited, this Holy Nation would function.
Think about it, brothers, if Jehovah is not your father, who is? If Jehovah is not your creator and maker, who is? Spiritual men and women know that there is “one God and Father of all [persons], who is over all and through all and in all.” (Ephesians 4:6) That means that all are sons of God and, consequently, every man is your brother.
Can this be so? Are all our brothers anointed? Are they all sons of God, the chosen race, the Holy Nation? Yes indeed! Before Jesus came to the earth, all mankind viewed themselves as slaves of God. Jesus came to reveal to us the sacred secret, that we are not slaves, but sons! Heirs to the kingdom of the heavens!
May the number of partakers increase exponentially as we carry out our priestly duties of inviting the world of mankind, including the so-called “earthly sons,” into the Kingdom of our Lord!
“So, then, because we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also put off every weight and the sin that easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, as we look intently at the Chief Agent and Perfecter of our faith, Jesus.”
– Hebrews 12:1-2
“Hence straighten up the hands that hang down and the enfeebled knees and keep making straight paths for your feet that what is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather that it may be healed. Pursue peace with all people, and the sanctification without which no man will see the Lord, carefully watching that no one may be deprived of the undeserved kindness of God.”
– Hebrews 12:12-15
Do not allow your brothers to be deprived of the prize of the upward call. Let's conclude in Letter No. 6.
