1. Who are you?
This ministry was started in January 2012 by a husband and wife in Southern California. We were later joined by a couple in Australia, and a brother in Massachusetts.  We are all over the age of 50 and have all been associated with the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society as Jehovah’s Witnesses for the majority of our lives. The brothers all served as Elders and the sisters served as Pioneers and Publishers. We are not members of the Governing Body, the Writing or Teaching Departments, the Bethel family or the Worldwide Order of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and never have been. (Since publishing this page, one of our primary partners passed in death.)

2. Are you active Jehovah’s Witnesses?
None of the 5 partners to this ministry are currently active Jehovah’s Witnesses, but as you can see, we are quite active in the ministry of the teachings of Jesus.

3. Are you apostates?
No.  Although we do not agree with certain Watchtower doctrines, we have never apostatized from the Father or the Christ.

4. Why don’t you publish your names on the website?
This site is not intended to be a social gathering place where we exchange personal information. It is designed as a source of uplifting spiritual information where we share ideas. The five of us are determined to keep the focus of our ministry on the message, not the messengers. We have no aspirations for personal fame and no desire to promote personalities. For that reason, we withhold our names in the public arena so as not to distract from what is more important – the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. We promote his message, his teachings, and his religion as he lived it and as he taught others to live it.

However, we are not in hiding. In addition to this online ministry, we all conduct personal, in real life, ministries and, of course, those who we speak with know our names and many of them also know that we are associated with this website.  But even in these personal settings, we avoid drawing unnecessary attention to ourselves.

5. Who is Elaia Luchnia?
At the end of most of our articles, we sign off “Elaia Luchnia” which means “olive trees and lamp stands.” It is taken from the 4th chapter of Zechariah where the prophet speaks of Two Witnesses.  We chose that designation because there are two primary writers of the information on this site, and we are certainly bearing witness to the Father and his Christ, and are trying to be a source of illumination to the congregations and to the world.  And, we know that the book of Revelation makes reference to Two Witnesses, but whether we are part of the symbolic drama of Revelation is a matter far beyond our knowledge.

6. Are you trying to reform the Watchtower organization?
No. The Watchtower organization is too far gone for reformation. Even if they change the teachings to align with the authentic teachings of Jesus, the baggage that is associated with the Watchtower organization is too heavy of a burden for Jehovah’s Witnesses to carry. What needs to occur is for each one of Jehovah’s Witnesses to acquaint themselves with the authentic teachings of Jesus and acknowledge that they are all sons of God and brothers to Christ Jesus. When that occurs, they will have the courage and the wisdom to come out from under the authority and burdensome commands of men and have the freedom of the children of God. We have written a series of articles and dramas showing how easily Jehovah’s Witnesses can find spiritual freedom, Possibilities For the Father’s Acceptable Year, which accurately reflects our intentions with regard to the Watchtower organization.

7. Are you starting a new religion?
No, we are not forming a new religion. We believe there are enough Christian sects, but not enough spirit-oriented Christians. Instead, we are proposing the idea that mankind does not need theocracies or authoritative religions. Christians need to develop spirituality and then practice their spirituality in free association with one another – all being equal and mature sons of God. We explain this in more detail in the article A True Christian Fellowship.

8. Why do you accept donations?
It takes a lot of time and resources to write and publish the amount of articles we have posted on this site.  Over the first 4 years, we published over 300 articles and email responses that we freely provide to all. Additionally, much time is devoted to privately answering many personal emails from our international audience. All of this is done to uplift the spiritual conversation, develop the body of Christ, and further the ministry Jesus started. From the beginning, many of our visitors began using our materials in their own personal ministry and have asked how they can support our work. Thus, allowing for donations has a two-fold benefit. It helps us meet our expenses so that we can dedicate our time and efforts to this ministry and it provides a means for others who appreciate our work to have a share in supporting it.

9. Why don’t you believe in the hope to live forever on earth?
Because living forever on earth is something Jesus never taught. It is the creation of men who combined their own interpretations of Bible prophecy with erroneous assumptions about God’s original purpose. The teaching wholly ignores what the Bible says is God’s original purpose for man before the earth was even created – namely to be adopted as sons of God in heaven. (Ephesians 1:3-5) See also The Cherished Earthly Hope, The Destiny of Man, Foreordained from the Founding of the World, Who are Led by Spirit, Hold Fast to the Sacred Secret, Moving Forward in Faith, as well as many other articles on this site.

10. What is your relation to The Urantia Book?
We are well read in matters concerning the Bible, God, and Jesus. Among the many books in our library is The Urantia Book. We find it quite fascinating, especially Part IV which chronicles the life of Jesus each year from birth to ascension. More than any other book, it has enhanced our understanding and appreciation for the Bible as it puts the reader in the same frame of mind as a person who actually sat before Jesus and listened first hand to his teachings.  We think many people would be surprised to see how much The Urantia Book agrees with the Bible.

However, The Urantia Book is not easy reading.  It can be quite intimidating to many who are not mentally, intellectually or spiritually prepared to tackle its contents. For that reason, we do not promote the book on this website. But, to those who have the courage and the desire to undertake a sincere reading of the book, we are happy to share our thoughts on how we approach the book.

And you can rest assured that everything we publish on this site is supported by the Bible, as is evident from the numerous scriptural references cited in practically every article.  Remember that even those who conduct a Biblical ministry have many different interests and hobbies.  And as long as what we present in our Biblical ministry is based on the Bible, there should be no problem with the fact that we also enjoy reading and doing other things.

11. What can I do to help you in this ministry?
There are a few ways others can help us develop and spread the ministry of Jesus’ plain and open teachings.  One way is to help us translate our articles into other languages. Another is to help us create audio recordings of our articles.  If you can help in either of these ways, please contact us.  A third way is to take the information you learn from this site and start your own ministry of Jesus’ plain teachings. That might include personal discussions with family, friends and people in the community, or blogs, websites and YouTube channels, or even our bold and innovative ministry we call Into His Harvest. For information about that ministry please write us. There is no one who has a monopoly on Jesus’ teachings and there is no need for a centralized authoritative group to direct the faith and ministry of others. There is a great need for Jesus’ authentic teachings to permeate our world so that the end to sorrow, suffering and injustice of all kind will come. (Matthew 24:14) Yes, there is large field under cultivation (Matthew 9:37-38), so we encourage all who are inclined to pick a spot!
