Article 4: “You Will Be Witnesses of Me”
October 6, 2014 - Boston, Massachusetts
Par. 2 States that Jesus was a witness of Jehovah at birth. (Isa. 43:10) Peculiarly Jesus never referred to himself as a witness of Jehovah. Instead the gospel of John indicates that John the Baptist and Jehovah bore witness about Jesus. Jesus acknowledges John the Baptist is a witness of him as stated at John 5:32-34. However note who the second witness bearer there is of Jesus.
(John 5:37) “And the Father who sent me has himself borne witness about me.” So would it be out of the way to say that Jehovah was a witness of Jesus?
Par. 5 Paragraph states; Why did Jesus say: “You will be witnesses of me,” not of Jehovah? Jesus could have said the latter, but the ones whom he addressed were Israelites and as such were already witnesses of Jehovah.”
That comment is pure speculation and has no scriptural basis. The Watchtower writers insist on remaining stuck in the old Jewish system of thinking based on Isa. 43:10 instead of accepting the new wine of Matthew 28:19, 30; Acts 1:8. One cannot scripturally circumvent being Witnesses of Jesus.
Par. 10 Luke 21:24 is cited in the paragraph as support that October 1914 was a marked year indicating “the sign of [Christ’s] presence as earth’s new King”… This is alleged to be the fulfillment of Dan. 4:16. Read the scripture in Luke carefully and note that Jesus makes not connection with the prophecy of Daniel whatsoever.
A careful reading of Daniel 4:20 clearly shows that the large tree the King saw in vision represented the Nebuchadnezzar himself. There is nothing in Daniel’s prophecy or the words of Jesus that justify equating “let seven times pass over it” with “the appointed times of the nations.” This is nothing more than the Watchtower writers juxtaposing scriptural text to convey an idea that is scripturally unsound.
(Daniel 4:20-22) 20 “‘The tree that you saw that grew great and became strong, whose top reached the heavens and was visible to all the earth, 21 which had beautiful foliage, abundant fruit, and food for all, beneath which the beasts of the field would dwell and on whose branches the birds of the heavens would reside, 22 it is you, O king, because you have grown great and become strong, and your grandeur has grown and reached to the heavens, and your rulership to the ends of the earth.
Pars. 11 & 12 Take note that when Bethel writers describe early history of Watchtower organization scriptural references are scanty as in paragraph 11. Or the scriptures give no support to the allegations that are made such as in paragraph 12. None of those scriptures support the fiction that in 1930 “it became evident that Christ had started to gather millions of other sheep.” Unfortunately the writers have yet to correctly identify who are represented by the “other sheep” or the “great crowd.”
Several articles such as (Other Sheep Become One Flock) as well as (Questions & Responses) from March 2013 on this website can enlighten the Watchtower writers to the scriptural facts regarding the identity of these two groups.
The preponderance of scriptures that record the sayings of Jesus and the apostles overwhelmingly show that we should be proud advocates of our identity as being “Jesus Witnesses” not Jehovah’s Witnesses. This is just as the Father would have it. (Mark 9:7) 7 And a cloud formed, overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud: “This is my Son, the beloved. Listen to him…

Readers take note of the absence of any references to Jesus Christ. Notwithstanding the following study article does discuss Jesus Christ there is no basis for shutting him out of this present article in which so many references directly apply to him. After all he is the Chief Agent and Perfecter of our faith, (Hebrews 12:2)
The very theme of this article based on Isaiah 43:10 show how stuck in the ancient past the writers are. When did Jesus or any of the apostles ever reference Isaiah 43:10 as the basis of their identity?! If this was so monumentally important would they not have indicated at least once that the followers of Jesus would inherit the mantle of Jehovah's Witnesses from the Jews?
Par. 6 - The read scripture is Prov. 1:8 "Listen my son to the discipline of your father, And do not forsake the instruction of your mother." It is commendable that the writers admonish parents to train their children to be holy as Jehovah is holy. But what a missed opportunity to shed light on Jesus words.
Our heavenly Father spoke to the apostles on the mount of Transfiguration, "This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved. Listen to him."
Par. 7(b) part of the question ask: What responsibility rests on all who bear God's name?
This question is somewhat of a "red herring" because disciples of Christ do not bear God's name.
Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the holy spirit comes upon you, and you will be witnesses of me (Jesus) in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria and to the most distant part of the earth."
Matt. 28:18-20, "Jesus approached and spoke to them saying: "All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth. 19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things."
Par. 8 - The more pertinent question to ask us who are living in the 21st century is what commission has Jesus Christ our Leader given us? Mt 23:10 "Neither be called leaders for your Leader is one, the Christ."
Pars. 9-11 - Old wine, old wine skins. Matt. 9:16, 17. Veil remains tightly pulled over faces of writer See 2 Cor. 3:14
Par. 12 - The brothers in the writing department know very well who are represented by the "great crowd" and the "other sheep." They do not have the courage to print the truth of who these two groups represent as it would cause their earthly hope theory to collapse! (See the articles on this website entitled ("The Great Crowd of Partakers & "The Cherished Earthly Hope").
Par. 13 - See question and response dated March 7, 2013 in regarding who rule as kings and priest, as well as the article "The Great Crowd of Partakers".
Par. 14 - This is the name Jehovah wants you to give attention to. Philippians 2:9-11. It says: "For this very reason, God exalted him to a superior position and kindly gave him the name that is above every other name, 10 so that in the name of Jesus every knee should bend-of those in heaven and those on earth and those under the ground-11 and every tongue should openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father."
Psalms 2:12 "Honor (kiss) the son, or God will become indignant and you will perish from the way, For his anger flares up quickly. Happy are all those taking refuge in him."
Par. 17 - Reason why response is so meager in many territories. John 10:1-18 5 "They will by no means follow a stranger but will flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers." 7 "So Jesus said again: "Most truly I say to you, I am the door for the sheep. 8 All those who have come in place of me are thieves and plunderers; but the sheep have not listened to them. 9 I am the door; whoever enters through me will be saved, and that one will find pasturage."
Instead of guiding the sheep to Jesus the fine shepherd, the door to the Father, you attempt to bypass him and go directly to Jehovah. This is evident by the article under discussion where you did not mention the "door" where one finds "pasturage" even one time! By your actions you have become thieves and plunderers. You have set up your "Governing Body" as the door to enter first, thus robbing the Christ of his pre-eminent place for entry to the Father.
I look forward to hearing other comments from those who are Awake at the Watchtower Study.
Article 2: Jehovah’s People “Renounce Unrighteousness”

Oh yes, my husband and I are very awaken during the Watchtower’s studies, like the one from July 15, 2014. In fact, just the picture introducing the article got us discouraged! We thought: We'll have to continue wandering in the Sinaiticus desert from where the [Watchtower] cannot find a way out!
And as the article was being commented, we realized that Jesus not only appeared once and in an almost imperceptible way that nobody could include Him in their comments, but also that the Divine Name, so Holy and sacred, that should be mentioned and pronounced with the most profound reverence, was as always being trivialized by the constant and exaggerated repetition. We counted nothing less than 61 times just in that issue!
And what was also incredible was that the entire article was raising suspicions about apostasy in our midst, and then, in the end, a warning about the danger of suspecting our brothers of apostasy!!! Too much, indeed!
I wonder how Jesus can be present in this type of meeting in which he is treated as an office boy before the Amen in the prayers! And most of the times, he is mentioned only in this way over an entire meeting! How sad! Poor Witnesses! How are they going to develop the mind of Christ in order to grow spiritually? Again, how sad!!!!

I believe the [Governing Body] are the real Apostates. If only the apostle Paul would see everything that they teach. I think he would tell all Jehovah's Witnesses the same as he told the Galatians at Galatians 1:6-9
“6 I am amazed that you are so quickly turning away from the One who called you with Christ’s undeserved kindness to another sort of good news. 7 Not that there is another good news; but there are certain ones who are causing you trouble and wanting to distort the good news about the Christ. 8 However, even if we or an angel out of heaven were to declare to you as good news something beyond the good news we declared to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, I now say again, Whoever is declaring to you as good news something beyond what you accepted, let him be accursed.”
The Governing Body has other good news unknown to true Christians. Paul was very aware that this would happen. And we are seeing it with our very eyes in the Jehovah's Witnesses religion.

Dear Friends, I would like to offer some comments in regards to the Watchtower study article “Jehovah Knows Those Who Belong to Him.”
Let me state from the beginning this post is lengthy. Since there has not been a substantial number of responses to this most vital part of your website I ask that you patiently indulge me by allowing me to comment to the full. As more people began to show that they are Awake at the Watchtower study I will abbreviate my observations. Thank you.
The very first thing I have trained myself to do prior to an in-depth study of an article is first to scan every paragraph to see how often the name Jesus or Jesus Christ appears. Then I take note of how many times reference is made indirectly to Jesus, for instance using the title, Son of Man, Son of God, The Lamb, Michael etc., and jot the number of times such references are used in the column.
Following that exercise ,I then make an evaluation of the overall quality of the article by seeing how well it measures up to the standard the apostle Paul set found at 2 Cor. 3:12-16 where it says: “Since we have such a hope, we are using great freeness of speech, 13 and not doing what Moses did when he would put a veil over his face so that the sons of Israel might not gaze intently at the end of what was to be done away with. 14 But their minds were dulled. For to this present day, the same veil remains unlifted when the old covenant is read, because it is taken away only by means of Christ. 15 In fact, to this day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies upon their hearts. 16 But when one turns to Jehovah, the veil is taken away.”
With that in mind I look at where the majority of scriptural references are taken from. Is it from the prophets in the Hebrew Scriptures or is it from the new wine that Jesus talked about at Matt. 9:16, 17 which are his teachings and later the writings of the apostles.
Is there a veil that covers the eyes of the Watchtower writers so that they give greater weight and attention to the prophets of the ancient past, what they said and did or do they give greater weight and reference to the teachings and living example of Jesus Christ. In other words are the writers of these articles guided by what was said in reference to Jesus at Hebrews 1:1 “Long ago God spoke to our forefathers by means of the prophets on many occasions and in many ways. 2 Now at the end of these days he has spoken to us by means of a Son, whom he appointed heir of all things."
Since as Paul said God now speaks to us by means of a Son how often do the writers of these articles refer to Jesus as compared to the ancient prophets?
In reference to the above scripturally based standard this article as so often occurs does not measure up! Right above the title of the article we can already determine where this article is going. Here we are given a dramatic picture of High Priest Aaron standing before the incense alter with what I believe is the sneering look of Korah in the background. Get ready to ride once again the apostate bashing train!
How many references are there to Jesus Christ out of this entire 18 paragraph article? ONE! In paragraph 5. This is the one and only time you find Jesus name or any reference made to him. The paragraph says: “The role that Jesus plays in Jehovah’s purpose is also compared to a foundation.”
Par. 10 Did you note carefully that “apostates” were not disfellowshipped from the congregation? The paragraph says: “Some Christians may have questioned why such individuals were allowed to remain in the congregation.”
What is so remarkable about this paragraph and the situation that exist in the congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses is men like Hymenaeus and Philetus who word was like gangrene were tolerated in the early Christian congregation, yet today if an anointed son of God spreads the word that we should all be partakers of the body of Christ as Jesus commanded at John 6:48-59 and that we should keep proclaiming the death of our Lord until he arrives that Paul indicated at 1 Cor. 11:26 this anointed son of God will be labeled an “apostate” subject to interrogation by a judicial committee, and if he or she persist in declaring their hope they are subject to being expelled from the congregation. Unbelievable!
Par. 15 Here we have another example of the utter hypocrisy that exist in many congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses throughout the world. I know this from first-hand experience. This is what is put in print as stated in this paragraph: “Should we, however, be suspicious of our fellow Christians, second-guessing the genuineness of their loyalty to Jehovah? Absolutely not! It would be wrong to entertain baseless suspicions about our brothers and sisters. What is more, having a tendency to distrust the integrity of others in the congregation would be harmful to our own spirituality.”
I am fully aware even as I type these words there are brothers and sisters right here in the branch of the United States that are held under suspicion and distrust and are at this very time being investigated over the hope of the Kingdom of the Heavens! Dear writers, where are you at this moment? Have you written your glib articles and returned to your comfortable rooms in the Bethel complexes with no further thought given to these words on paper? Or are you diligent in making sure that what you described in your written articles is what is actually practiced in the Congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses throughout the world? The overwhelming evidence is that in many congregations what you have just written is largely ignored. And ignored with impunity by congregation elders, some circuit overseers, and particularly your Governing Body. So many sons of the Kingdom are being treated horribly by you and your leaders. How can you print this knowing the real conditions that exist and still sleep at night!
There is so much more that can be said about this pitiful and substandard dish you call spiritual food. You are all living the life of Raleigh there at Bethel with no material cares whatsoever to worry about. You are able to live this high life off of donated funds by hardworking people here on the “outside.” Surely you can do much better than this for the household of God that is depending on you for spiritual sustenance.
Notwithstanding my terse words for you, I am still holding out hope that someday you will get it! That you will write what is true and take actions to see that what is practiced does not make you out to be liars! What a glorious day that will be for all of us!
Finally if I have misstated or did not observe correctly any reference in this study article, please bring it to my attention and I will humbly accept the correction.
9/9/14 UPDATE: In regards to the comments I posted above, a very angry responder was incensed by my mistaking "Raleigh" for "Riley." And he was burned to the crisp by my mistake of not noticing that Hymanaeus was indeed disfellowshipped as indicated at 1 Tim. 1:20. Thank you dear brother for bringing this to my attention.
