Article 4:   The Last Enemy, Death, Brought to Nothing

The Read scripture cited in paragraph 14 really caught my attention. Revelation 5:9,10 is cited in answer to the question; What provision from Jehovah would help reverse the imperfection that Adam passed on to is offspring?

The scripture reads:  And they sing a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, for you were slaughtered and with your blood you bought people for God out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, 10 and you made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to rule as kings over the earth.”

Is this group “out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation” the same group at John saw in vision at Rev. 7:9; After this I saw and look! a great crowd, which no man was able to number, out of all nations and tribes and tongues, standing before the throne and before the lamb, dressed in white robes; and there were palm branches in their hands.”

When we combine everything Jesus taught about the Kingdom of the Heavens and Paul preached as the reward of faithful followers of Christ then it makes sense that heavenly life is the provision that Jehovah through Christ would provide to reverse the problems passed on by Adam and Eve’s default.

Jesus himself said: “From the days of John the Baptist until now, the Kingdom of the heavens is the goal toward which men press, and those pressing forward are seizing it.”

Jesus also said: “Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood remains in union with me, and I in union with him.  Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will live because of me. 58 This is the bread that came down from heaven. It is not as when your forefathers ate and yet died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.”

(Philippians 3:13-15) . . . Brothers, I do not yet consider myself as having taken hold of it; but one thing is certain: Forgetting the things behind and stretching forward to the things ahead, 14 I am pressing on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God by means of Christ Jesus. 15 Therefore, let those of us who are mature be of this mental attitude, and if you are mentally inclined otherwise in any respect, God will reveal the above attitude to you.

This is how Paul’s words are realized as cited at the end of paragraph 12 where it cites 1 Cor. 15:45 “So it is written; ‘The first man Adam became a living person.’ The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.”

It makes ones heart leap with joy to understand the impartiality of the Father that he would not bestow rich heavenly blessings on some of his children and make the others wait while subjecting them to further trials and tribulations. (Acts 10:34, 35).

So many of my unanswered questions regarding Adams default and how God would restore mankind were answered in the articles “The Great Crowd of Partakers” and “The Cherished Earthly Hope” found in the links on this website. Anyone interested in expanding their spiritual horizons should take time to read them.

Article 2:   Serve God Loyally Despite “Many Tribulations”

November 8, 2014 - Boston, Massachusetts, USA

Par. 5 I ask, What was the Kingdom of God which Paul was willing to suffer so much for? Could it have been the glorious Kingdom of Heaven?

Paul said at 1 Cor 15:50 “But I tell you this brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit God’s Kingdom…”

This was in harmony with what Jesus said to Nicodemus at John 3:3 In response Jesus said to him: “Most truly I say to you, unless anyone is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.”

From what Jesus stated and Paul understood this was the Kingdom of God that was no mere illusion and worth bearing any form of tribulation to obtain.

“In the house of my Father are many dwelling places. Otherwise, I would have told you, for I am going my way to prepare a place for you. 3 Also, if I go my way and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will receive you home to myself, so that where I am you also may be. John 14:2,3.

Par. 6 Ask the question: What reward is held out to those who endure? The paragraph cites two fragments from John 10:16  and 2 Pet. 3:13  which are put in quotation marks; “other sheep” and “righteousness is to dwell.” These two partial fragments from the scriptures are combined to say that the “other sheep” have the reward held out to them of gaining everlasting life on earth.

If one reads both scriptures without fragmentation you will discover it says nothing at all about a group of Christians who would be given the reward of everlasting life on earth. From where does this idea come? Where did either Jesus or Paul discuss this earthly reward?

Par. 13 – 15 It saddens me to hear of so many of our brothers and sisters who continually fight feelings of worthlessness and negative feelings. Could it be that insufficient attention has been spent in helping our brothers and sisters to get under the yoke of Christ? Field service performance, building projects, weekly meeting attendance in addition to employment demands, raising children and other household responsibilities put unusual demands upon Witnesses unlike any other religious group I know of.

Might some of the tribulation and discouragement our brothers face be self-imposed?  Listen to what our lord says at Matthew 11:28-30  “Come to me, all you who are toiling and loaded down, and I will refresh you. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am mild tempered and lowly in heart, and you wil find refreshment for yourselves. For my yoke is kindly, and my load is light.”

Article 1:   Are You Convinced You Have the Truth? Why?

Like many of the brothers and sisters in this article these are the reasons I would have listed as the basis for believing I had the truth by my upbringing as a Witness from childhood well into my senior years as an adult.

Par. 13 One longtime servant said: “Every effort is made to keep Jehovah's organization morally clean and undefiled, regardless to who has to be counseled or disciplined.” This is his/her reason for believing they have the truth.

Par. 15 One brother in his 50's bases his faith on three things: 1) that God exists; 2)that he inspired the Bible; and 3) that he is using and blessing the Christian congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Par. 16 A married sister at the world headquarters said in regard to the Watchtower organization in part: "It is the only one that unwaveringly proclaims Jehovah's name.”

Par. 18 Another longtime witness listed this as his reason for believing the Watchtower organization has taught him the truth: "My study over the years has convinced me that the Witnesses have made serious efforts to return to the model of first-century Christianity.”

As stated at the opening, these are the reasons I would have listed as the basis for placing my confidence that I had the "truth" as taught by the organization for most of my life.

In recent years I was confronted by these stark "truths." Out of 8 million of my brothers and sisters world wide 99.9% will acknowledge that:

1.  They are not sons of God as Paul said. (Galatians 3:26)

2.  They are not brothers of Jesus Christ as he said. (Matthew 23:8)

3.  They are not baptized into Christ’s death as Paul described. (Romans 6:3)

4.  They are not anointed with Holy Spirit as Jesus promised.(Acts 1:8; 2:17-18)

5.  They are not in the covenant with Jesus as he promised. (Matthew 26:27-28)

6.  They do not want to live in the places Jesus prepared in heaven. (John 14:2)

7.  They will not participate in the Memorial Supper as Jesus commanded. (John 6:53-56)

8.  And they are not part of the body of Christ, the true Christian congregation as Paul describes. (Colossians 1:24)

After scripturally and very carefully examining these matters in the spirit of the ancient Beroeans, I found that my original reasons for thinking I had the truth were no longer sustainable.
